Hey Gang.
Well, the fishing IMO is still slower and off from the previous couple of years, yet can still reward you with a decent catch is you stay persistent and able to switch gears when need be. That may include going armed with several techniques, the equipment and the knowledge about when to switch from one to the other if all the signs point that way. I don’t think I’ve ever switched my rods back and forth to so many different things in one season as this year. The last couple of trips I’ve done well using “Old School” techniques. Hot-N-Tot’s or Rattle Tot’s. These were all you needed 20 years ago to catch limit after limit, but fell off the walleyes main menu the last couple of years. I’ve also been doing better fishing the shallower waters versus the deeper zones. This of course can also be frustrating as the weed problem is always present in the shallows. It’s definitely a tougher bite out there, but still well worth the trouble with a little extra effort. Posting some pictures from some recent trips. I also got virtually every day in August open for charters. Give me a call if you need to relax and catch a few walleyes. Be safe fish smart and tight lines my friends. Capt. Dan.
