Hey Everybody,
What can one say about this years off the chart fishing season. From the kinda slow beginning to the RED HOT action that doesn’t seem to be letting up even a little. The massive amount of smaller walleyes we had from 3 great year classes of naturally spawned fish all became keepers this year it seems. And their habit of biting everything and anything when they were smaller seems to have carried over. This great fishing rivals the late 80’s/early 90’s as far as numbers go. The average size not so much, but I prefer the smaller ones for eating any ways. They do seem to be schooling in tighter areas now versus the beginning of the season. So if you hit a few in one spot, turn around and keep hitting it. I’d like to share some hot spots and techniques, but the whole bay is producing from 14′ to deeper haunts using virtually anything you have to offer. I’m also impressed with the river bite and since I bought a Kayak (of sorts) last year, I’ve been having a ball using it with the few other friends that own one as well. Sure saves on gas money any ways. Franks has some great deals on different types of Kayaks and they are not as unsteady or unsafe as some might think. Below are a few recent pictures. Be Safe, fish smart and tight lines. Capt. Dan.
