The wind is back again! But only for a couple of days.
Once the wind calms and the waves subside, you will want to give it a try.
Walleye fishing was picking up for us before this wind, you will need to head North and straight out of the harbor fishing the 30 to 90 foot of water areas. Some fair amounts were being taken trolling with crawlers and harnesses and some hot & tots, and small spoons. Perch colors and silver or purple with black colors have been working. Try casting some body baits from the wall early morning and late evening also.
Salmon and Steelhead in 60 to 150 foot of water, North and straight out from the harbor with spoons off the downriggers and also try some 2,3,5,7,and 10 color lead lines off the Offshore boards. The bright orange, copper, white with black dots, and gold are good colors to start with.
Try for the Lake Trout South, North, and straight out of the harbor in 80 to 160 foot of water areas, using dodgers with the spin and glows, also spoons down 50 to 120 feet.
There is plenty of water at the ramps, docks and out the channel now, so get that boat out and come enjoy a day on the water.
The Harbor Beach Light House tours have started now. They are run on Saturday’s, with tickets available at the Harbor Beach Marina. Come out and enjoy a trip back in time. Hours are 10 am to 1 pm with the last trip out to the Light House leaving the dock at 12:15 pm.
Keep those lines tight,
