Lake Trout fishing is slow due to the wind and storms. Try North, South, and straight out of the harbor in 90 to 120 foot of water, Try using dodgers with spin and glows or spoons close to the bottom.
A few Steeelhead are being taken fishing in 90 to 140 feet of water this has slowed also but should pick back up soon, spoons off the downriggers, and lead lines off the Offshore boards are working well. Best colors are black with mixed colored dots, purples, green, orange and bright colors. Small, and Regular sizes have still been working best. Look for the color lines on the lake and work them for best results.
A few Walleye are being taken between Harbor Beach and Port Hope in close to shore try 25 to 50 feet of water with small body baits and small spoons on the Offshore boards early morning and late evenings. Crawler harnesses with night crawlers are also working. A few are still being taken off the wall early morning and late evening casting small body baits.
Bass are being taken in close to shore casting or trolling spoons and body baits.
Perch fishing is slow, try South of the harbor by the cemetery using minnows.
Lighthouse tours are running on Saturday mornings now. Come out and enjoy stepping back in time with a tour of our lighthouse. Call the Marina Office for advanced reservations or purchase tickets at the office the day of the tours. This also makes a lovely gift for your friends or family. Call 989-479-9707 for lighthouse tours.
Dredging still continues, there is plenty of water at the ramps and out the channel, ask at the office which docks have the best water.
Keep those lines tight,
