Lake Trout fishing has picked back up with some nice ones being taken straight out and North of the harbor. The Storms coming through might slow them down for a day or two but try fishing 70 to 80 feet of water first thing in the morning, then move out to 105 to 130 feet of water try using the dull silver Dodgers with the green body, white wing spin and glows fishing close to the bottom. Also try yellow, gold, orange with yellow and black or green colors for best results. If the fishing is slow try using some plain spoons off the downriggers and speed up some, the copper with orange and black, gold, and green colors have still been working best.
Steelhead action is starting to pick up with some nice ones being taken. Find those color lines and you should do good, troll those bright color pinks, yellows, and orange lures for best results back 150 feet off the Offshore Boards or dipseys. Remember if they are on a slow bite, try speeding up more than usually, it usually works! Top 50 to 60 feet of water has been best.
Try for some Salmon in closer to shore first thing in the morning, then move out to the deeper water after the sun gets up. Try some Spin Doctors and Action Flys off the Dipsey Divers back 150 feet. Spoons off the downriggers and dipsey divers, black with glow oval color have been working, also try superman colors, or the green or blue alewive colors. Don’t forget to start trying some J-Plugs as well. Try out in the 50 to 80 foot of water areas and work out to the deeper depths. They have still been setting in the top 50 to 60 feet of water.
Walleye fishing has been on the slow side, try fishing straight out front and North of the harbor with the crawler harness and hot and tots, and small to medium size spoons. I would start trolling in 25 or 30 feet of water and work out to the deeper waters of 60 to 100 feet. They have been setting in the upper sections of water first thing in the morning and lower as the sun comes up. Long lines or the ten color lead lines have still been working best. Best colors continue to be the copper, orange, green, and yellow colors straight or with small blades in front.
Bass fishing is still very good casting around the weed beds inside the harbor and close to shore North and South of the harbor.
Perch fishing is scattered again with the storms, try South of the harbor by Wagner Park, the walkway at the swim beach and South of the harbor by the cemetery, try fishing the 30 to 60 feet of water areas as well using minnows.
Keep those lines tight!
