Saginaw Bay Area Fishing Report 9/27/2012

Saginaw Bay Walleye

Saginaw Bay: Fishing pressure has been light due to strong winds. Anglers at the Hot Pond were catching and releasing a few smallmouth bass. Most anglers were fishing inland because they could not get out on the big water. Shore anglers have caught a few small perch and some bluegill.

Saginaw River: Boat anglers that can not get out on the big water should give the river a try. A couple walleye were caught in the lower river and a few perch were caught by those fishing at the mouth.

Kawkawlin River: A couple anglers fishing off the bridge on State Park Drive managed to catch a few crappie.
Flint River: Was producing walleye in downtown Flint below the Hamilton Dam.

Lexington: Pier anglers are getting chinook, brown trout and a few pike when casting Cleo’s and rapalas. Early morning and late evening are best.

Port Sanilac: Pier anglers here are also catching trout and salmon right along with a few big pike.

Harbor Beach: Those fishing off the breakwall are getting some brown trout in the early morning or late evening.
