Sheepsheads, are they good to eat or are they throwbacks?

Like virtually everything else in this world, one persons opinion is another’s gospel. There are a few fish species that I keep and eat that others think are junk. I personally love the white bass. And have
eaten Sheepsheads from Lake Erie a few years ago that my mother cooked up. I personally could not tell the difference between them and the walleye she cooked up.
I believe it’s all in the taking care of and the preparation of the fish. Keep the fish on ice after you catch them. Fillet them and let them stand in cold water with a light layer of iodized salt on top for about 6 hours. Cook them in your favorite recipe. I think they will be great…..Capt: Dan
